Non Residential Summer Schools

Sports Science Non-Residential (29 July – 1 August 2024)

Dates: 29 July – 1 August 2024
Requirements: Must be taking Biology (B Grade or above) AND one of Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics

Join us at Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health for an unforgettable non-residential summer school experience! Get up close and personal with groundbreaking research, learn from top experts, and unravel the mysteries of injury prevention and recovery. From exploring biomechanics to dissecting the latest in sports nutrition, this is your chance to kickstart your journey in sports medicine. Pathways, Planning & Progression Non-Residential Summer School (29–31 July 2024)

Dates: 29–31 July 2024

A mix of taster workshops delivered with the Bartlett, specifically focusing on Urban Planning and the Sustainability & Environmental Planning departments. The workshop will also incorporate a ‘Hackathon’ challenge, advice and guidance, networking sessions with employers and employer workshops, and a talk on admissions.

Experience university life and get a taste for teaching at a higher education standard as well as meet and work with potential employers to explore other options such as apprenticeships, work experience and options around going direct into the workforce with on the job training.Ìý

Taster Days/Short term programmes

Cancer Institute Summer Insight Programme (23–24 July)

Date: 23–24 July

Dive into the world of cancer research with the ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûCancer Institute's Summer Insight Programme. This two-day exciting opportunity invites Year 12 students who previously attended our taster days and other students who are interested in exploring and studying cancer. We offer you the chance to work with our state-of-the-art researchers in the lab and practice a wide range of techniques used in biomedical research. You will also work with the education team to gain an insight into applying to universities for higher education and learn about career pathways in cancer research. Join us to explore the fascinating field of cancer research and discover your potential to be part of the next generation of cancer researchers.

MindCraft (20 July)

Date: 20 July, 10am - 4pm at UCL's Institute of Education

Year 10s and 11s, get your parent/carer and come and join us on MindCraft,Ìýwhere we have combined Psychology with Education at IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society.ÌýWe have designed a day full of enriching activities especially for you AND your parent/carer. You will hear about all the different areas of Psychology and ask your questions. You will also engage in hands-on experiments at the Psychological Experiment Fair, you can even compete with your parent/carer. ÌýOur staff and a panel will support you to explore future career pathways. ÌýThroughout the day you will get the opportunity to meet our current students and share your views about Higher Education; and you will also get a tour of our campus.



Work Experience

The ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûDivision of Medicine is the largest department in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, forming one of the largest concentrations of biomedical scientists in Europe in one of the world's leading universities. We are excited to invite Year 12 and 13 students to attend our summer school in the first week of July 2024 and learn more about medical sciences. During this week you will have the opportunity to join a practical, hands-on lab work experience hosted by STEM researchers working at the cutting edge of research and innovation.Ìý
