This event will explore the ways in which contemporary art intertwines with broader issues related to the political, social, and cultural landscape in Southeast Europe. The panel will bring together curators, theorists, and artists, inviting them to reflect on questions such as the positionality of practitioners in the arts, the effect of geography on art and curatorial practice, contemporary relations between art and activism, and how current conditions affect artistic and curatorial production in the region and beyond.

Louisa Avgita, Assistant Professor in History of Art, School of Visual and Applied Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, co-curator of the .

, Lecturer in Arts Policy and Management at Birkbeck’s Department for Film, Media and Cultural Studies, independent curator and founding director of .

Jonida Gashi, Researcher at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and the Study of Art, Tirana, and founder of of Contemporary Art.
