English language requirements

Teaching at 新香港六合彩开奖结果takes place in English. Applicants are required to meet UCL's English language requirements, so that language difficulties do not hinder your study.

The following information gives English language requirement guidance for Study Abroad applicants.

Any student who is not a national of a UK Home Office majority English-speaking country is required to provide recent evidence of English language proficiency.

Evidence may take the form of one of:

  • A minimum of 12 months of academic education leading to an awarded qualification, in a country that 新香港六合彩开奖结果considers to be 'majority English speaking'听鈥� a list of these countries can be found on the Undergraduate English language requirements page.
  • An English language qualification (e.g. IELTS) that is recognised by 新香港六合彩开奖结果鈥撎齛 full list of qualifications and scores required can also be found on the Undergraduate English language requirements page.听

Any of the above must have been taken no more than two years prior to the date of enrolment at UCL.

Students who will arrive on a Student Visa to study at 新香港六合彩开奖结果under an Erasmus agreement will be asked to satisfy the English language requirement at B2 Level or higher to meet the requirement of the programme and the UKVI.

Our English Language requirements are changing to a scale of 1 to 5. Applicants applying for entry from听September 2023听onwards will be required to meet听English Language proficiency on the 1-5 scale.

Acceptable English language qualifications include:

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Academic
CEFR B2:听Overall score of 5.5 and 5.5 in each of the four skills
Level 1:听Overall score of 6.5 and a minimum of 6.0 in each component
Level 2:听Overall score of 7.0 and a minimum of 6.5 in each component
Level 3:听Overall score of 7.0 and a minimum of 7.0 in each component
Level 4:听Overall score of 7.5 and a minimum of 7.0 in each component
Level 5:听Overall score of 8.0 and a minimum of 8.0 in each component

CEFR B2:听Overall score of 72, 18/30 in reading, 17/30 in listening and writing, 20/30 in speaking
Level 1:听Overall score of 92 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 20/30 in speaking and listening
Level 2:听Overall score of 96 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 22/30 in speaking and listening
Level 3:听Overall score of 100 with 25/30 in reading and writing and 23/30 in speaking and listening
Level 4:听Overall score of 109 with 27/30 in reading and writing and 23/30 in speaking and listening

C2 proficiency (CPE), previously known as Cambridge certificate of Proficiency听
