PGTA Vacancies for 2024/25

The Natural Sciences department are looking for postgraduate teaching assistants to join our small and friendly teaching team.

The benefits of working as a PGTA in Natural Sciences:

  • All our module leaders are full-time teaching staff who are committed to the quality of the teaching and learning on our modules;
  • You will have opportunity to gain authentic teaching experience through classroom teaching and curriculum development, with close support from the module leader;
  • You will be fully supported in your development as a teacher, for example through coaching in your Associate FHEA application;
  • Our modules are interdisciplinary and our students are fun, enthusiastic and curious about all things science.

Our teaching covers a wide variety of subjects including Science Communication, Science and Society, Programming (Python) and Mathematical Methods. Main duties may include planning and teaching classroom activities, marking work and providing feedback, meetings with the module organisers, and monitoring student progress.

We are looking to recruit committed PGTAs with a keen interest in teaching and supporting student learning.
