Description

SERS0002 Year 1A Use of Russian covers a broad range of grammar and lexical notions.ÌýÌý

This module concentrates on the development of a sound command and understanding of Russian grammar, allied to the productive use of Russian for speaking and writing skills. The module aims to enable students (i) to achieve a solid base in Russian in writing and speaking skills, (ii) to develop a thorough understanding and command of Russian grammar and to acquire a good working vocabulary, as well as (iii) to boost language awareness and language learning study skills.

As the module progresses, the range of materials extends to take in literature as well as social and cultural developments.

By the end of the module students will have acquired (i) a sound knowledge of the structures of Russian, (ii) a working vocabulary of 1300 – 2000 words, (iii) an ability to use and understand Russian, moving from beginners to pre-intermediate level, (iv) the experience of using Russian in everyday life.

Resources include various materials (bespoke and from textbooks), audio recordings and computer-mediated materials. All resources are available on the SERS0002 Year 1A Use of Russian Moodle pages.ÌýÌý
