Description

This module introduces the key concepts relating to the use of technology in inspiring or enabling transformation. This includes discussion of key technological influences as well as ways of understanding the lifecycle of technology. The module includes an introduction to technology, IT concepts and architectures, and technology design, with key concepts in modern technology including cyber security, data protection, big data, autonomy and robotics. Management of knowledge and technology maturity, technology lifecycles, technology transfer and standards are also covered. The module also explores technology forecasting and roadmapping, the management of innovation and the use of technology to bring about change. This is achieved through a combination of interactive lectures and case studies where the taught principles are applied.
