Description

Aims: You will gain knowledge and understanding of the English as a school subject, of the influence of national and local policy and of a range of subject-specific pedagogies. This module will draw on the subject knowledge that you bring onto the course and will enable you to reconfigure this knowledge in the context of London secondary classrooms.

Outcomes:

You will demonstrate this research and engagement by completing a 5000-word essay titled: English, Media, Drama assignment.

You will:

  • reflect critically on your own experiences as learners and teachers
  • engage with recent research and relevant research and theories of learning and teaching as you relate to the field of English studies
  • constructively engage with policy contexts and initiatives.
  • produce a theorised account of an aspect of your own classroom practice as an English teacher.
