Description

Human resource management (HRM) is an interdisciplinary field that examines how organisations could be effectively staffed to achieve strategic goals. This module has two themes:

  • How to think strategically and systematically about managing organisations’ human assets; and
  • How to execute HRM strategies and to achieve competitive advantage.

This module adopts the perspective of a general manager and addresses human resource topics from a strategic perspective. This module does not cover technical details such as the psychometric aspects of test validation, job evaluation methods, interviewing mechanics, or the caveats of employment law.
