Description

This compulsory module aims to enable students to engage critically with key theoretical issues pertaining to methodologies of researching digital learning. These issues include research foundations, ontology and epistemology, research paradigms, induction and deduction, research questions, theoretical frameworks, qualitative and quantitative research, research trustworthiness criteria, methodologies and methods, and research ethics.

The module includes a number of research-oriented activities through which students develop skills for critically reviewing and analysing existing research, considering ethical issues that arise in educational research contexts, and designing and preparing for research centred on digital learning.
