Description

This module is about developing digital products and services to support patients' and the public's health. Users of healthcare are increasingly expected to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing, supported through a growing range of online sources of information and connected devices. This module covers current thinking on personal health informatics and the involvement of citizens as co-producers of health. It will provide an opportunity to reflect on long-term trends in healthcare and their possible impact on how organisations work with their communities to design services adapted to a changing world.

At the end of this module, you will have:

1. An understanding of the personal use of digital health and barriers and facilitators to engagement.

2. Understand evaluation and clinical risk management in relation to digital health.

3. Understand the socio-technical aspects of informatics focused on the consumer and the public.

4. An understanding of the theories of behavioural change and interaction.

5. An understanding of the organisational and human factor challenges to the effective use of digital health technologies.

The module is delivered through web-based distance learning in the ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûVirtual Learning Environment plus a 3-day face-to-face teaching session.
