Description

'Mathematics education' is an umbrella term that encompasses all aspects of learning and teaching mathematics in schools and in other settings. This mathematics education course is for undergraduates who are interested in how people learn mathematics and how to develop good approaches to teaching maths. It is a highly relevant course for those considering teaching as a career.Ìý

The module is taught over 10 weeks in the autumn term at ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûInstitute of Education campus. Sessions are highly interactive and discursive in nature, and attendance to all sessions is strongly advised.

This module has been designed for undergraduates who are in their third or final year of their degree, but it is open to second year students and also available as a module for part-time students.Ìý

Pre-requisites: you will require A level mathematics for the course. You will also be required to engage in class group discussions, and to write a small number of academic assignments, and so fluency in spoken and written English is required.
