The course covers additional Chinese characters together with more advanced vocabulary, grammar, morphology, syntax and phonetics, and develops the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) to enable students to communicate in all situations within a Mandarin-speaking environment.
The course will enhance knowledge and use of linguistic structures (a variety of styles and registers from a range of appropriate authentic material). Various transferable skills will also be further developed.
The course covers specialised vocabulary to enable participants to use their language skills in a more professional environment, such as discussions and interviews, as well as covering related topics such as current affairs and the latest trends in Chinese society. The course will enhance knowledge of Chinese life, society and business culture using complex and linguistically accurate structures (different types of discourse, register). Various transferable skills will also be further developed.
