Description

In this module, students learn foundational principles of the philosophy of science and a range of different research methods that are central to crime science. Ten lectures introduce students, for instance, to classic and quasi-experiments, longitudinal designs, and mixed method research. We will also take a closer look at the specific challenges of measuring crime and the use of different data in crime science. The module includes ten tutorials where students will critically assess research methodologies and develop their own projects, providing students with critical transferable skills.
