Description

This module, core to the MA Publishing programme, will offer students the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of the questions, theories and controversies, which have informed critical issues and theoretical debates on authorship and reading. Furthermore, the module will enable detailed consideration of what 'authorship’ and 'reading' is, as an artistic and cultural practice, in given contexts.Ìý

By the end of the module, students will be able to:Ìý

1.            Support and champion authors and readers within your future role in the publishing industryÌý

2.            Understand the context of the contemporary publishing environment for authors and readers across sectorsÌý

3.            Demonstrate an informed understanding of intellectual property, copyright and rights managementÌý

4.            Identify and use relevant data sources to track patterns in authorship and book receptionÌý
