Description

This is a project-based module open to second year BSc Architecture students in Term 2.

Students take forward the Design Unit themes, together with personal ideas and concepts from the design module BARC0097 (P1), and develop these to become a building design proposal that is sited in context, physically or digitally modelled, and drawn-up to a scale of 1:500, 1:100 and/or 1:50 as appropriate. The emphasis of this project is on an in-depth attempt at design development, leading to design synthesis, as students experiment with personal working methods that allow them to work iteratively on both new and reworked ideas, developing these ideas into a building design proposal.
