Description

This is a project-based module open to second year BSc Architecture students In Term 2 and Term 3.

The resolution of any project demands that a ‘final’ stage of the building design proposal is presented completely, concisely, and coherently so that it can be examined. For this project, students take forward the proposal from the previous design module BARC0135 (P2). Appropriate communication techniques must be used, which could include final and working/testing physical models, spatial and scaled drawings, 1:1 constructions, computer representatives as 3D models and time-based animations. At this point, students should attempt to make the project as complete as they can within the limits of time available and the scale of the work being addressed.

The final design portfolio will include work from module BARC0135(P2) and BARC0096 (P3) and will demonstrate conceptual thinking, material and spatial interrogation, and the technical resolution of a building design proposal in an appropriate context.

The portfolio demonstrates a personal way of producing work. The work should be clearly presented and organised in order to be assimilated quickly by others in review conditions, whilst also allowing the work to be enjoyed and understood at length in other circumstances.
