Description

This is the first of three extensive ‘design practice’ modules aimed to develop skills in design, architecture and engineering synthesis enhancing students’ ability to address complex design challenges in the built environment by bringing together ‘know what’ of science and ‘know how’ of design. The ‘Design Practice 1’ is undertaken within a relatively open design studio structure, where all students undertake projects in response to a brief that is set across the whole year, with weekly tutorials and regular events including seminars and peer assessments, crits and reviews.
