Description

Aims:

To demonstrate the knowledge, understanding and skills to design and justify an inclusive, subject or context specific learning programme that meets the needs of a defined group of learners.

To understand how technology impacts on teaching and learning opportunities and on curriculum design.

Outcomes:

Trainees should be able to:

  • Apply methods and techniques they have learned during the module, consolidating and extending knowledge to enhance teaching and learning in their professional practice.
  • Apply theories of curriculum design in their professional practice to enable inclusive learning.
  • Make further use of critical incident analysis to evaluate and improve their practice with reference to curriculum design and implementation.
  • Apply up-to-date knowledge of their subject/context area.
  • Engage with issues relating to cultural diversity, gender, multilingualism and social deprivation and reflect on how these impact on teaching and learning in their subject specialist/context specific areas.
  • Engage in an online learning community to explore e-learning opportunities, to exchange ideas and share practice within this community.
  • Use critical reflection and feedback from others, including peer groups, to evaluate and improve their own practice: this to draw on current research and scholarship.
  • Plan for their own professional development and monitor the progress made.
  • Demonstrate continued development in literacy, language, numeracy and ICT as laid out in the minimum core curriculum.
