Description

This module provides an up to date overview of cornea, cataract and refractive surgery. In the corneal section you will study the diagnosis and management of external diseases of the eye and the cornea such as keratitis, corneal ectasias, corneal dystrophies, blepharitis, conjunctivitis and dry eyes.

The cataract section will cover the aetiology and management of cataracts, including practical methodologies and approaches to assessment of the vision and anterior segment in respect of indications for cataract.

The refractive surgery section will cover the assessment and management of refractive errors, the laser and intraocular techniques involved and their outcomes and complications. You will be given an insight into the different tools and techniques that can be used in the diagnosis and monitoring of these conditions and will consider the practical methods and current evidence base supporting established and evolving medical and surgical treatments.
