Description

This module will cover theoretical and research literature on central concepts and methods of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy as applied to psychosis and will include the practical teaching of fundamental skills for the application of CBTp. The focus will be on assessing the varied experience of psychosis and equipping students with core skills and knowledge to formulate the experience of positive and negative symptoms. As in year one, skills based competencies will be developed through small group experiential work and role-plays in workshops, linked to group supervision by course members and individual/group supervision in the place of work. Self-directed study will include general reading for each course and preparatory reading for each session. Web based resources will allow students to study examples of clinical therapy sessions and clinical demonstrations of specific techniques.
