Description

This thought-provoking module focuses on population-level health management, exploring what ‘Public Health’ is, as well as examining the intersection of public health and UK primary care.Ìý

During this module, you will learn the basics of how to conduct healthcare needs assessments, and healthcare evaluations. You will study topics such as health improvement, and be given the opportunity to apply your learning by proposing your own health improvement intervention. The course will also cover emerging population health issues, such as: delivering primary care for excluded groups and health protection responses to outbreaks (e.g. measles) and pandemic threats.

The course is primarily delivered by the module lead, but features guest speakers from organisations such as UK Health Security Agency and Doctors of the World.Ìý
