Description

Careers and Professional Development is a compulsory module spanning Terms One and Two, designed to help prepare you to achieve a successful future career.

Students attend sessions from the suite of Careers Electives offered as part of the PGT Careers and Professional Development Programme, which span three streams of activity: Explore Your Options, Find Opportunities, and Prepare to Apply. Whilst students must attend a minimum number of sessions, the specific sessions which you choose to attend are at your discretion, dependant on where you are on your personal career journey.

Session formats include both information sessions and interactive workshops / networking events, facilitated by our team of Careers Consultants and Employer Engagement professionals, and featuring speakers from top tier employers as well as School of Management Alumni. The sessions also aim to teach long-term Career management skills, meaning they remain valuable and relevant even for students who may have their post-graduation career plans in place.

Students can also choose to substitute one of the information/interactive sessions for two dedicated MSc Management Careers and Professional Development Appointments (available from the end of February).

After attending the sessions, you are required to complete the Post-Module Self-Assessment activity, helping you reflect on your career trajectory and skill development to date, and plan next steps.
