Description

The module aims to equip students with an understanding of what data is, why and how it is converted into information and used as business intelligence to drive business strategy and business decision making. The module will cover sources of data, how that data is managed and cleansed to provide the basis for business intelligence. It will cover traditional sources of business intelligence as well as Big Data, Open Data and Business Intelligence in the Cloud. Students will use commercial tools for discovery and visualisation of data and will gain an appreciation of reporting findings to management.
