Description

This is a 30 credit design module in the MArch Bio-Integrated Design in which students will be introduced to the programme’s experimental design culture through a series of short projects.
Numerous seminars and workshops with invited experts in the field such as architecture, product design and material science, biology will underpin the students design explorations that will be done individually in the first weeks and in groups until the interim reviews. The projects are inherently design oriented, but they are also important to engage students with new research agendas in which they learn the basics of biological/ecological thinking, growth and lab protocols, speciation, bioreceptivity concepts, environmental and water dynamics, along with material considerations.
