Description
The module consists of a pre-clinical part, which will take place over a 6-day period at the beginning of the course. Lectures will be given and clinical cases presented by the students will be discussed. The content of the module involves didactic lectures, clinical skills seminars, problem based learning, clinical sessions sedating patients in small groups with nitrous oxide/oxygen under the direct supervision of experienced and qualified mentors. Lectures will cover basic sciences, as well as pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs. On-going contact with lecturers during and after the course on a mentor basis will be encouraged.
