Description

The Arts and Sciences dissertation is 30-credit module that students take in the final year of the core their degree. Students will decide on their topic which draws on any one or more of their current or previous pathway modules (including core modules) and find an appropriate supervisor. The dissertation takes the form of a short research project to be written up in the form of a dissertation of 8,000-10,000 words. The project should be interdisciplinary in order to pass the module satisfactorily and the highest marks will only be achievable for the best interdisciplinary projects.Ìý

Teaching Delivery

Three one-hour lectures across the academic year: two in term 1 and one in term 2.

Module aims and objectives

  • Design and manage a piece of original project work around an interdisciplinary topic of interest to the student with appropriate scope and complexity;ÌýÌýÌý
  • Develop research techniques and skills through a combination of academic writing and interdisciplinary research methods.
