Description

This module aims to enable the students to understand and critically evaluate issues in clinical trials design and implications for conduct in different research settings. The module will be delivered using examples from a range of different trials in each setting. Students will also discuss clinical guidelines and how clinical decisions making is influenced by trial evidence.

This module will focus on providing an applied knowledge from current/past trials to guide the students though clinical trial design in a range of different disease areas and research settings.

Students will get the opportunity to have an in-depth look at trials in different phases and in different research settings. Areas covered will include: primary care, mental health, complex environments, cancer, infectious diseases, medical devices, advanced therapies, ophthalmology, paediatrics, neuroscience and international trials.
