Description

This module explores the theory, research and practice of nutritional care across a range of nutrition specialties provided by clinicians. It is a core module for level 6. Topics addressed will include learning about nutrition in practice across a range of specialties and environments including nutritional assessment, nutritional Support – Oral nutritional support (ONS), Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition and food Services and catering management.

By the end of the module students will have a knowledge and understanding of:

1) Development and evaluation of nutritional interventions pertinent to nutrition practice
2) Pharmacological agents used to treat disease states which are relevant to nutrition practice
3) Evidence-based guidance for nutrition practice
4) Communication skills for effective nutrition practice.
