Description

This module aims to give students an introduction to developing an embedded edge device with the capability of connecting to an IoT system. This includes:Ìý

  • Designing and developing a schematic from datasheets of MCUs, sensors, actuators, and wireless transceivers.Ìý

  • Creating a multi-layered PCB layout using KiCAD and Altium from a schematic diagram.Ìý

  • Create a BOM from a schematic and PCB design.Ìý

  • Fully code an embedded system using HAL protocols in real-time operating systems.Ìý

  • Take into consideration compliance regulations in IoT when designing hardware and firmware.Ìý

  • Writing a technical report which details the functionality of an IoT-embedded edge system.Ìý
