Description

This module is designed to give you the skills needed to understand and analyse financial statements such as statement of financial position, balance sheet, profit and loss statement and annual report. ÌýYou will learn about budgeting and cashflows including costing methods and investment appraisal so that you can evaluate and question key financial structures, documents and figures.

You will also come to appreciate how different health systems organise the financing of healthcare and the impact that the way financing is undertaken shapes healthcare delivery and incentives.

In addition, to learning how to effectively use these various financial statements for decision making, you will also gain an understanding of regulatory compliance and corporate governance. You will come to appreciate the importance of ethics for financial reporting as well. ÌýAll these topics will be covered across this module in a manner that will develop your skills and knowledge of financial management as you move through the material.
