ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûCentre for Access to Justice staff and volunteers honoured on Pro Bono Recognition List

We are proud to announce that four of ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûCentre for Access to Justice’s dedicated staff and volunteers been featured on the inaugural Pro Bono Recognition List.

This prestigious list, published this week, acknowledges solicitors and barristers across England and Wales who have contributed over 25 hours of pro bono work in the past year.

Those recognised are:

  • Rachel Knowles - Director of Centre for Access to Justice and Associate Professor (Teaching)
  • Michael Marshall – Social Welfare Solicitor and ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûLaws Alumnus
  • Thul Khan – Housing Solicitor
  • Rob Marsh – ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûLaws Alumnus and volunteer at ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûiLAC

The Pro Bono Recognition List, established under the sponsorship of the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee and endorsed by the Lady Chief Justice, enjoys the support of the Law Society, Bar Council, and all major pro bono legal organisations. It celebrates the invaluable contributions of individual lawyers from firms and organizations of all sizes who provide legal assistance to those in need.

ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûFaculty of Laws is deeply committed to being an inclusive law school, striving to provide equal opportunities for all students and ensuring access to justice for the wider community. The work carried out by the Centre for Access to Justice and the ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûIntegrated Legal Advice Clinic (ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûiLAC) is a testament to this commitment. These initiatives offer vital legal support to those who might otherwise be unable to afford it, addressing issues such as housing, employment, and social welfare.
