ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û

Now in its second year, Target Law is a widening participation scheme supporting Year 12 students from non-selective schools and underrepresented backgrounds to apply to top law schools.

On Friday 19 January, the newest students taking part in this year’s Target Law mentoring programme were welcomed to Bentham House. The programme was first launched in 2023, and intake has grown from 40 participants to approximately 70.

Students heard from Professor Lucinda Miller (Vice Dean (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) at ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûLaws) and were given an opportunity to speak to current LLB students, as well as other members of the cohort.

Target Law aims to make legal education and the legal profession more inclusive and accessible to typically underrepresented groups. They will be mentored by current ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûLaws students on topics including preparing for the LNAT, writing a personal statement, and student life. Participants will also gain insights into legal careers: one of the planned sessions in October will include guest speakers sharing their experiences of working in the legal profession.
