ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û

will host a major international conference on ‘New Directions in Private Law Theory’ on 11 and 12 November 2021. The ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûteam, comprising Professor Charles Mitchell, Dr Prince Saprai, , and Mr Martin Fischer, has been awarded funding by the Society of Legal Scholars to run the event as one of its Annual Seminars for 2021.

The conference will showcase the work of early career scholars working in private law theory, and give them an opportunity to discuss new ideas and receive constructive feedback from more established academics working in the field. The goal is to foster a sense of academic community and international engagement among this new generation of scholars, and to provide a platform for women and BAME scholars in particular, who have been historically underrepresented in this field of scholarship.

Papers presented at the conference will be published as a collection of essays.

The expectation of the organisers and participants is that the conference will be held at ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûLaws, but arrangements are in place to run the conference remotely in the event that restrictions on travel or large gatherings remain in place as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
