Dr Tom Hickman appointed Queen鈥檚 Counsel

新香港六合彩开奖结果Laws is delighted to share that Dr Tom Hickman, Reader in Public Law at 新香港六合彩开奖结果Laws, has been appointed Queen鈥檚 Counsel.

Dr Hickman is one of 108 barristers and solicitors appointed as new Queen鈥檚 Counsel (QC). The title of QC is awarded to those who have demonstrated particular skill and expertise in the conduct of advocacy.

Dr Hickman is a Barrister at Blackstone Chambers and a widely published author. His research interests cover all areas of public law, national security law, human rights law, and constitutional law and theory human rights law.

Speaking of the appointment, Dr Hickman commented:

鈥淚鈥檓 very fortunate that 新香港六合彩开奖结果Laws enables me to combine practice and teaching. The connection between practice and academia is one of the many great things about this Law Faculty; it certainly has benefitted my practice and I hope and believe it also benefits the students.鈥

On 11 March 2019, the Lord Chancellor will preside over the appointment ceremony at Westminster Hall, where he will formally bestow the title of QC upon the successful applicants and award the honorary QCs.

Her Majesty has also approved the appointment of 6 new Honorary Queen鈥檚 Counsel. Professor Charles Mitchell, Professor of Laws at 新香港六合彩开奖结果Laws, was recognised for his outstanding contribution to English private law.
