ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û

In June this year, ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûLaws students reached the Finals of the  after progressing through four previous rounds, which involved debating a range of problems from law of evidence to sexual offences. They had been competing since October last year. The Finals problem was based on tort and economic loss, and took place at one of the four Inns of Court, Inner Temple. 

The team, including Robert Shu and Bharat Punjabi (pictured above), won £150 worth of vouchers from OUP for their success.

Commenting on the competition, Bharat said: 

"Mooting against many aspiring barristers from across the country was a challenging yet fruitful experience. It was also heartening to hear Lady Justice Hallett commend the ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûteam specifically for our neat and comprehensive preparations. It has always been an honour to represent the University at moot competitions, and I am already looking forward to the next opportunity."

Lady Justice Hallett, Vice-President of the Criminal Division of the Court of Appeal, judged the Final. 

Other teams represented in the Finals were Birkbeck, University of London; Queen's University Belfast and Open University. Birkbeck went on to win.
