Since 2004ÌýDavid Ormerod has lectured regularly to the and before that to the JSB on all aspects of criminal law, evidence, procedure and sentencing. He has lecture onÌýExpert Evidence, Hearsay, Bad Character, Fraud, Homicide, Serious Sexual Offences, Vulnerable Witnesses, Serious Crime and Long and Complex Crime.ÌýÌýHe has also delivered induction training to every newly appointed judge for the last decade.Ìý By invitation of the President of the King’s Bench Division, he has lectured regularly to the High Court Judiciary, and by invitation of the Vice President of the Court of Appeal Criminal Division, he has lectured each term to the Court of Appeal judges since 2015.Ìý

David Ormerod assisted Lord Justice Pitchford to draft theÌýCrown Court BenchbookÌýin 2010 andÌýwas one of a team of four judges responsible for drafting the Judicial College –ÌýÌý in 2016. Since then he has continued to act as an editor of theÌýCompendium.ÌýÌýSince February 2008 he has co-authored a monthly newsletter for all those judges sitting in criminal courts in England and Wales, analysing recent developments.
