On 4 March, over 50 ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûstudents attended the offices of Mishcon de Reya to learn more about the various career paths available for those interested inÌýintellectual property law.Ìý

Chaired by Nina O'Sullivan, (top left),ÌýPartner and Head Knowledge Lawyer in the Innovation Department of Mishcons, the audience heard presentations from IP solicitor at Mishcons, Eleanor Wilson (top middle);ÌýIP barrister,ÌýKendal Watkinson from Hogarth ChambersÌý(top right);ÌýVasiliki Antoniadou, in-house IP counsel at gaming company Bally's (bottom left);Ìýtrade mark attorney at Mishcons,ÌýFelicia Oduntan (bottom middle); and Conor McLaughlin,Ìýa patent attorney at Mishcons (bottom right).Ìý

Following the presentations, the panel then took questions from the students in the audience and there was a further opportunity for discussion over drinks at the following reception.

While around half of the students attending were already studying IP law as part of their LLB or LLM degrees, the attendees also included 2nd year law students who will soon have to select their option subjects, and were comtemplating IP law as one of their choices. In addition, STEM students from other faculties and a fewÌýLaws alumni signed up for the event. A number ofÌýLaws' PhD IP researchers were alsoÌýon hand to discuss the options available to those interested in further IP study.

We are very grateful to Mishcon de Reya for hosting such an informative and enjoyable event, as well as to the other speakers on the panel.Ìý
