Every International Women in Engineering Day (June 23) ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûEngineering takes the opportunity to showcase and champion our fantastic female students, researchers, academics and alumni. Take a look at 2024’s video interviews to discover more.

National Women in Engineering Day was originally launched in the UK on 23 June 2014 by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), in order to celebrate its 95th anniversary. Receiving UNESCO patronage in 2016, the initiative became international for the first time in 2017, adopting its now familiar moniker, INWED, and enabling the celebration of women in engineering to become global.

As part of ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûEngineering's INWED 2024Ìýcelebrations, we caught up with alumni from across ourÌýdepartments to discover how they are they are changing the world through their work.

Maya | ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûCivil, Environmental and Geomatic EngineeringÌý

Maya graduated from a ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûwith a degree in Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering. After completing her studies, she joined the graduate programme at Multiplex, a global construction company.Ìý

Grabrielle | ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûMechanical EngineeringÌý

Following her studies in Mechanical Engineering, Gabrielle pursued further study before co-founding Greenr.ÌýGreenr aims to tackle the climate crisis, by giving individuals and companies emissions data that will help them become more sustainable.
