BiographyÌý

Malu A. C. Gatto is Associate Professor of Latin American Politics at the Institute of the Americas at University College London (UCL) and Global Fellow at the Brazil Institute at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars. Previously, she was a post-doctoral researcher (Oberassistentin) at the Department of Political Science of the University of Zurich.

She completed her doctoral studies at theÌýDepartment of Politics and International RelationsÌýat the University of Oxford (DPhil, 2016). She also holds an MSc in Politics Research (2012) from Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford, and a BA (2011) from Barnard College, Columbia University.


Research summary

Malu’s work explores questions about political behaviour, representation, policy-making, and gender and politics with a regional focus on Latin America, especially Brazil. HerÌýÌýhas been published atÌýComparative Political Studies, theÌýBritish Journal of Political Science,ÌýParty Politics,ÌýDemocratization, andÌýPolitics & Gender, among others.Ìý
